When old skin cells begin to pile up on the surface of the skin, it can leave you looking dull, rough and dry. The build up of these dead skin cells result in excess oil, clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne. This is why exfoliation is key!
Exfoliating eliminates dead skin cells and polishes skin, refines pores and smoothes fine line and wrinkles. A good skin care routine is exfoliating no more than twice a week, so you don't experience sensitivity and irritation. Yes! you can over - exfoliate. Beautiful skin requires commitment not a Miracle ;)
How to exfoliate?
Always begin with warm water to soften skin, allowing the shower to run for at least 2 minutes, to prepare the skin for exfoliation. Pause the water during exfoliation and apply your scrub in circular motions. This helps to remove all the dirt and dead skin cells built up on the surface of your skin.
It's important to maintain a gentle pressure not to damage the skin. Start wherever is convenient for you, your problem areas first, feet up or arms down. Rinse with lukewarm water If you choose, after you can then take a quick rinse with cool water to close and tighten your pores before using an astringent or toner. For the mornings, a light moisturizer then SPF (if your moisturizer has SPF, your good to go!), and your nighttime routine can include a deep moisturizing/reparative cream as well as an under eye serum or cream.
Remember consistency is key!
